End of Summer Activities Before You Head Home
Well, we hate to say it but the summer is dwindling down and coming to an end. For those of you who have left Long Beach Island we would like to say thank you and we hope you had a wonderful summer. However, for those of you who are still here stretching out your summer for as long as possible, we have some wonderful activities to end your summer with a bang!
Spend your day at some of LBI’s widest beaches. Barnegat Light boasts some of the widest beaches on Long Beach Island and is the perfect place to put your feet in the sand and relax for the whole day.
Go shopping at the Viking Village Shoppes. Viking Village has a great variety of shopping to fit anyone’s style. From antique treasures for your home to clothing and jewelry for yourself or a gift. If you don’t feel like shopping just grab a coffee and sit back and watch the boats come and go at the docks. Viking village has plenty to offer to fill your day and make the most out of your summer.
Climb the Lighthouse or take a walk on the Barnegat Light nature trail. This is a wonderful way to spend one of your last summer days. Head to the top of Old Barney and bask in the beautiful views of Long Beach Island. Afraid of heights or cant quite make it to the top anymore? Grab some food and relax at the picnic tables and watch the boats go by. If you are a nature buff there is a wonderful nature trail to walk along that might spark your interest.
Go Fishing! Barnegat Light is well known as a local fishing town. There are many different spots to fish from in Barnegat Light. The jetty next to the lighthouse and the beaches are among the top spots. So grab your rod and hit the seas for a fun filled day of fishing!
